Does My Online Therapy have any job openings for therapists?
My Online Therapy does not hire therapists as employees. Therapists contract with My Online Therapy to provide a web presence for their online private practice.
What fees are clients charged for therapy through My Online Therapy?

What fees are therapists required to pay My Online Therapy?
Therapists pay a one time $100 service fee in order to be set up on the web site. After that, My Online Therapy retains only 30% of all fees collected for billing, accounting, marketing, processing credit card charges, bookkeeping, web site maintenance, and monthly peer supervision support. Therapists keep the remaining 70% of all transactions for themselves.
What do therapists get for the $100?
You will be listed on our website, with a photo, a biography, and a licensure validation link. We will also assist you with developing an Informed Consent Statement and HIPAA notice which addresses issues raised with online therapy. My Online Therapy also works to educate and support therapists doing online therapy by providing current information and education about issues prevalent in working within this format.
How do I sign up to start my private practice through My Online Therapy?
There are two steps to the procedure:
- Simply click on the Sign Up page and you will be directed to Pay Pal to submit your sign up fee by credit card. My Online Therapy will notify you when your listing has been completed on the web site. You can begin working immediately.
- We will respond with an email notifying you that we have received your payment and a questionnaire to complete regarding your biographical and licensing information. You will also need to submit a digital photo of yourself for the web listing. This will be explained more in the email request.
How long will it take before I can begin my practice through the website?
It usually takes about one week to add you to our listings once your payment and registration email have been received.
What do you mean by "monthly peer supervision support"?
My Online Therapy provides an online chat session once monthly for therapists working in this format so they may dialogue with other professionals working online and troubleshoot issues which arise. We believe this is an important component missing in other online chat sites.
How are therapists paid?
Therapists are paid by check biweekly based on the fees they have earned. Since therapists are running a private practice, it is up to them to keep their own records of monies earned and pay taxes on this income accordingly. My Online Therapy is working toward establishing direct deposit in the near future so that fees could be paid more quickly.

Have professional standards been established regarding online therapy?
Standards have been established by various organizations, but no universal standards have been agreed upon. However, this format of providing therapy has been heavily discussed and numerous statements have been issued regarding its practice and My Online Therapy meets and often exceeds the standards suggested by these organizations.
